AIRPOD-AIRJACK

Pneumatic Floor Lifts for Fall Victims

Reasons to Include Airpod-Airjacks in Your Product Sales Portfolio

1.    High Incidence of Falls:

Approximately 4.2 million people suffer falls annually in the UK, with the majority occurring in homes. Bathrooms, living rooms, and staircases are common locations for these accidents.

2.    Vulnerable Age Group:

Falls predominantly affect older adults, especially those aged 65 and over. Around 1 in 3 adults over 65 and half of people over 80 experience at least one fall each year. Older women are at higher risk due to osteoporosis and other factors.

3.    Main Causes of Falls:

  • Balance Problems and Muscle Weakness: Age-related muscle weakening affects balance and stability.
  • Vision Loss: Poor vision complicates safe navigation.
  • Long-Term Health Conditions: Heart disease, dementia, and low blood pressure can lead to dizziness and fainting.
  • Environmental Hazards: Wet floors, poor lighting, and unsecured rugs contribute to falls.
  • Medications: Some medications cause dizziness or drowsiness, increasing fall risk.
  • Rushing to the Toilet: Particularly at night, rushing can lead to falls.
  • Ladder Falls: Older men frequently fall from ladders during home maintenance tasks.

4.    Why Hospitals and Care Homes Will Use Airpod-Airjacks:

  • High-Risk Population: These settings cater to individuals at a higher risk of falling, including older adults and patients with chronic conditions or post-surgery.
  • Prevention and Quick Response: Readily available equipment helps staff respond swiftly to falls, minimising injuries and ensuring patient safety.
  • Rehabilitation and Recovery: Supports physical therapy and exercises that temporarily increase fall risk while ensuring safety.
  • Legal and Ethical Considerations: Healthcare providers are responsible for preventing falls and providing appropriate care if they occur.
  • Training and Awareness: Staff are trained to use fall prevention and response equipment effectively.
  • Monitoring and Documentation: Proper equipment aids in documenting and analysing falls to implement further preventive measures.

Falls are a significant public health issue globally

The Statistics are similar in other Developed Countries and Regions, including the Middle East.

Developed Countries

In developed Countries, falls are a major cause of injury, particularly among older adults. For example:

United States:

Each year, millions of older adults fall. In fact, more than one out of four older people falls each year, but less than half tell their doctor. Falling once doubles your chances of falling again.

Australia:

Falls are the leading cause of injury-related hospitalisations among older Australians. Approximately 30% of people aged 65 and over experience at least one fall per year.

Canada:

Falls are the leading cause of injury among older Canadians, with 20-30% of seniors experiencing one or more falls each year.

In the Middle East, falls are also a significant concern, particularly in the context of workplace safety:

United Arab Emirates (UAE):

Falls from height are a common cause of injury in the construction industry.

Dubai:

33.2% of construction injuries were due to falls from height.

Saudi Arabia:

Falls are a leading cause of occupational injuries, particularly in the construction sector.

Global Perspective

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), falls are the second leading cause of unintentional injury deaths Worldwide.

Each year, an estimated 684,000 individuals die from falls globally, with over 80% of these fatalities occurring in low- and middle-income countries.

The risk factors for falls are similar across different Regions and include balance problems, muscle weakness, vision loss, long-term health conditions, environmental hazards, and certain medications.

Preventing falls and providing timely treatment is crucial for maintaining the health and well-being of older adults and other vulnerable populations.

If you sell to Hospitals, Care Homes, Home-Care and/or the Emergency Services, the Airpod Airjack is an Easy Sale and a Valuable Add-on.

AVAILABLE WITH 2 OPTIONS + 2 SIZES FOR EACH OPTION:

1 - Static Air Pressure

Refers to the Air Pressure inside an inflatable structure that remains relatively constant once it has been sealed.

The Air is pumped in, and the valve is closed to trap the Air, maintaining the shape and firmness without the need for a continuous air supply.

Anticipated Launch Date: May 2025

The launch of the Premium Plus Airjack has been moved to an earlier date.

The goal is to offer a product that Customers are familiar with, rather than introducing something entirely new.

2 - Dynamic Air Flux

"Dynamic Air Flux" refers to the continuous flow of air being pumped into the inflatable structure to keep it inflated and buoyant.

This is where the Air Blower continuously pushes Air into the unit to maintain its shape and firmness - until it is fully inflated.

Anticipated Launch Date: October 2025

The launch has been delayed to ensure the Premium Plus Airjack gains sufficient traction.

STATIC AIR PRESSURE Vs DYNAMIC AIR FLUX

AIRJACKS with Static Air Pressure are significantly simpler to design and manufacture.

In contrast, AIRJACKS with Dynamic Air Flux (Sequential Inflating) are intricate structures that necessitate meticulous construction design and airflow management, due to the Air being in a constant state of flux until the AIRJACK is fully inflated.

Dynamic Air Flux - see videos below

  • Involves Continuous Airflow, where air is constantly being pumped into the AIRJACK.
  • Continuous Airflow is essential for maintaining the shape and firmness of the AIRJACK.
  • The Constant Airflow allows the AIRJACK to respond to external forces, like the weight of a person, by continuously adjusting the Internal Pressure.
  • Allows for more flexible and immediate adjustments to pressure, ensuring the AIRJACK remains stable and safe during use.

Static Air Pressure

  • Refers to the Air Pressure inside an AIRJACK that remains relatively constant once it has been sealed.
  • Used in sealed constructions, such as air mattresses.
  • The Air is pumped in, and the valve is closed to trap the air, maintaining the shape and firmness without the need for a continuous air supply.

Dynamic Inflating Construction

With the introduction of the Airpod Airjack Dynamic Inflating Construction, the Tiers interact in such a way that the Air travels from and through the bottom Tiers to the Tiers above SEQUENTIALLY VIA A SINGLE AIR INLET.

As a result, the Tiers are in CONSTANT DYNAMIC FLUX, with Air travelling from and through the lower Tiers to the Tiers above until the entire construction is fully inflated – without the need to inflate each Tier separately and individually.

The Air Hose Nozzle is attached to the Air Inlet Valve* of the Airjack via a specially designed connector at the bottom of the Airjack (Tier 1).

Each Tier, in turn, is AUTOMATICALLY inflated without the need to introduce AIR SEPARATELY AND INDIVIDUALLY TO EACH TIER.

* The Air Inlet Valve is specially designed and constructed for the Airpod Airjack. It provides three functions:

  1. Controlled Air Input
  2. One-Way Closure to trap the air inside the tier/chamber
  3. Air Release Mechanism to allow the air to escape after use

lifting WEIGHT - 240 kg - 528 lbs

At lower weights, there is no discernable movement or oscillation during the lifting process.

The Airpod Airjack maintains a steady, progressive lift effortlessly and easily, as demonstrated in the video.

Minor adjustments are generally unnecessary; however, it is very important to ensure that the Weight is placed correctly in the centre (within the Central Markers) before initiating the lift.

MAXIMUM WEIGHT LIMIT - 500 kg - 1100 lbs

The Airpod Airjack can easily accommodate 500 kg (1100 Lbs) as demonstrated in the video.

Internal Tests indicate that the Weight-Bearing Capacity is considerably higher, at over 1000 kg (2200 Lbs).

Therefore, the issue is not one of Weight-Bearing Capacity, but rather the amount of surface space available on the Top Tier (Tier 4) of the Airjack.

Minor adjustments are easy to make, as shown in the Video.

For All Patient Lifting

The key is to ensure that the Weight is placed correctly in the Centre (within the Central Markers) before the Lift is initiated.
